#  Surprising Chinese voices on racial protests

Do you want to be really surprised? A Chinese friend sent me today on we chat a number of images from the blockbuster social media site ticktok In China. Two showed ordinary people cleaning up neighborhoods where there had been some violence of debris. Another one showed the images which I had seen on TV of a sheriff meeting with protesters, asking them if they needed any help, and being very friendly with them. According to my Chinese friend the caption read, "Brave American sheriff leads police in protest." This does not fit in with what I would expect on this from Chinese media.
